Jean-Paul da Costa
Partner, Corporate Commercial

Jean-Paul has wide-ranging domestic and international corporate commercial experience across both private practice, as well as in industry, and acts as legal counsel and business advisor to a wide range of UK and international clients. He originally qualified as a barrister in Lincoln’s Inn before moving on to become a solicitor and public notary.

Before joining Sherrards in 2009 to head up the Corporate Commercial team based in London, Jean-Paul was head of Thomas Eggar’s Commercial practice. Through his science and technology background, he has particular expertise in Intellectual Property and IT law, and leads the firm’s IP group.

He also specialises in Charity Law, having acted for large national and international charities for most of his career, and is recognised as a leading expert in this area.
